  1. Basic Neurocellular Patterns (7 days)

The development of these patterns in humans parallels the evolutionary development of movement through the animal kingdom. The Basic Neurocellular Patterns are the words of our movement.

  2. Breathing and Vocalization (6 days)

The breath moves the body internally with vibration from the flow of air that is harnessed for sound making.

  3. Client Assessment and Therapeutic Approaches (6 days)

Through this course we learn client centred ways to practice, in the context of delivering individual sessions.

  4. Client Assessment and Therapeutic Approaches 2, Integration and Competency 12 days

Client Assessment and Therapeutic Approaches 2 (4 days) Psychophysical Integration 2 (4 days) Competency (1 day) Professional Issues 3 (3 days)

  5. Competency (1 day) and Professional Issues (2 days)

Competency (1 day) and Professional Issues 1 (two days) are for students who have completed the full SME cycle and are ready to graduate.

  6. Embryological Development (3 days)

Embodied embryology explores the wonders of our first stages of development in our initial period of gestation in the womb.

  7. Endocrine System and Fluid System courses

The endocrine system and fluid system courses can be taken separately.

  8. Immune System (3 days)

Our immune system is important for maintaining balance and homeostasis, it is our inner regulatory system and defense system.

  9. Infant Developmental Movement Education 1A

    IDME 1A, 5 days, 35 contact hours

  10. Infant Developmental Movement Education 1B

    IDME 1B, 5 days, 35 contact hours

  11. Infant Developmental Movement Education 2

    IDME 2.

  12. Integration of the body Systems and Development 1 (7 days)

This course also offers an overview of the whole Practitioner Program and serves to integrate the body systems material within the developmental sequence of the neurocellular patterns.

  13. Integration of the Body Systems and Development 2 (6 days)

As the title implies this course builds on the first course of the program providing an opportunity to continue to integrate our understanding and practical application of the fundamental principle

  14. Ligamentous and Fascia System (7 days)

The ligaments set the bound aries of movement between the bones.

  15. Nervous System (7 days)

Experience first occurs on the cellular level. The nervous system is the recording system of the body. It records our experiences and organizes them into patterns.

  16. New Frontiers (3 days)

This course is an opportunity for Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, the founder of the BMC training, to share her newest research with the group.

  17. Ontogenetic Development (5 days)

The period from intrauterine life through approximately 12 months of age is an extraordinarily formative time for humans.

  18. Organ System (7 days)

Our organs are vital and alive. They provide us with our sense of self, full-bodiedness, and organic authenticity.

  19. Primitive Reflexes, Righting Reactions and Equilibrium Responses (RRR) (6 days)

If the Basic Neurocellular Patterns are the words, the Primitive Reflexes, Righting Reactions and Equilibrium Responses are the fundamental elements, the alphabet, of our movement.

  20. Professional Issues 2 (3 days)

This course marks the transition into the 4th year of training. It explores the type of professional issues we are facing when professionally working with clients in individual sessions.

  21. Psychophysical Integration 1 ( 6 days)

In this course we focus on the inter-relationship of body and mind, dealing holistically with the embodied and mindful approaches to self knowing, self development and being in the world.

  22. Senses and Perception (4 days)

Our senses begin as potential and develop in response to stimulation and experience. The senses of touch and movement are located throughout the body – in every cell.

  23. Senses and Perception 2 (6 days)

Building on the first two years, we explore the anatomical and physiological base of each of the senses and their role in the integration of movement and perception.

  24. Skeletal System (9 days, one day off)

This system provides us with our basic supporting structure. It is composed of the bones and the joints.

  25. Student Presentations (3 days)

This is the time for each participant to present his or her final project.

  26. Subcelluar Systems (3 days)

The study of the cell is a characteristic of Body-Mind Centering as a template for the body-mind continuum and the experience of cellular consciousness.

  27. Teaching Skills (6 days)

This course focuses on applying BMC in teaching groups.

  28. The Endocrine System (5 days)

The endocrine glands are the major chemical governing system of the body and are closely aligned with the nervous system.

  29. The Fluid System (6 days)

The fluids are the transportation system of the body.

  30. The Muscular System (9 days)

he Muscular System: This is the final course in the two year sequence and will be followed by Competency and Professional Issues, for those nearing completion of all courses required for graduation
